Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Semolina (Barik Sooji)
  • 2 Medium Sized Boiled Potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp Grated Carrot
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Flour
  • 2 Tbsp freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 Tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 Tsp Butter
  • Salt

Instructions

Heat a pan and add sooji and stir it for a minute on low flame.

Add a double amount of water than the sooji in the pan and mix it well until it becomes a thick mixture.

Now add butter and again mix it properly until it leaves the pan surface becomes a soft dough.

Once done, remove the dough into the mixing bowl and let it cool down.

Now add boiled potatoes by grating them, grated carrot, rice flour, chopped coriander, coriander-cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, chaat masala, and salt according to the taste and mix all the ingredients properly.

Now take 1 tsp oil and add to the mixture and make a soft dough of the mixture.

Take a tray or any steel plate and grease it with oil.

Now put the dough into the plate and spread it evenly covering the borders of the tray.

Keep the tray into the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to let it set.

Remove the tray on completion of 15 minutes and the make evenly sized square-shaped pieces out of the dough by cutting it with a knife.

For shallow fry, heat oil in a pan and when heated keep the gas on a low flame and slowly release the square-shaped pieces into the oil and stir them until they become golden brown.

Remove the golden brown sooji bites on a tissue to absorb the excess amount of oil.
